An update from Vera and Rhodes

We want to let you know about an important change at Backs and Joints.

Vera Christensen has been caring for patients at 18 Cliddesden Road since 1994. Over the years the clinic has evolved through different partnerships and names, and in 2019 it became what many of you know today as Backs and Joints.

After 33 years in practice, Vera has decided to take a step back from running the clinic. We’re delighted to share that Rhodes Franklin, who joined Backs and Joints in 2023, will be taking over the day-to-day running of the business, with effect from 1 April 2026.

Vera isn’t going anywhere — she will continue to see patients at the clinic, with slightly reduced hours, and will keep providing the same patient-centred care she’s always been known for. Rhodes will gradually increase his clinic hours as he takes on this new role.

Most importantly, it’s business as usual for you. Backs and Joints will continue to offer the same high standard of care for our existing patients and for anyone new in the community who would like our help and expertise.

There’s nothing you need to do — you can continue to book appointments as normal, and your patient records and care plan will remain exactly the same. If you have any questions about the change, please do ask us next time you’re in, or when you call the clinic.
